Current Roles: Maintenance Manager
The Lakes Resort is a scenic golf and leisure destination located in beautiful Ben Eoin, Nova Scotia (15 minutes from Sydney). With a main clubhouse, private cottages, on-site restaurant (Founders), event/banquet space, halfway hut, and expansive grounds, we offer a premier experience for guests year-round.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and hands-on Building Manager to oversee and provide maintenance to our clubhouse, cottages and halfway hut.
Responsibilities:
General Maintenance: Oversee and perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections for all resort buildings including the main lodge, cottages, Founders Restaurant, and halfway hut. This includes repairing floors, doors, and roofs, repainting rooms. Take care of plumbing, electrical or structural problems.
Property Management: Maintain grounds, walkways, decks, and utility systems to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Contractor Oversight: Coordinate and supervise trades and contractors as needed (plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
Preventative Maintenance: Develop and follow schedules for seasonal prep, inspections, and servicing of equipment and infrastructure. Repainting guest suites and cottages and general common areas.
Inventory & Supplies: Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and equipment; order as needed.
Emergency Response: Act as point-of-contact for urgent repair issues and ensure prompt resolution.
Collaboration: Work closely with the front desk, restaurant staff, and housekeeping team to support guest and operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in facility/property/building maintenance or similar role
- Strong knowledge of building systems: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
- Hands-on repair and maintenance skills
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management abilities
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Assets:
- Experience in hospitality or resort environments
- Red Seal or trade certification (asset but not required)
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
